At Wind Fornells we’re not just passionate about sailing; we love to see our students living the great feeling of freedom and exhilaration you get from using the wind to glide across the water. That's why our teaching is practical and adapted to each person's specific needs. Fornells, with its flat water offers ideal conditions for starting out or perfecting your technique in a uniquely beautiful setting which makes sailing at all levels a joy.

Our installations have all that is required for your comfort: changing rooms, showers, WC and drying room for wetsuits. Our information offices have a small chandlery for your sailing needs. We're right by the beach and our expert instructors, support and rescue teams, sailing and windsurfing equipment are ready for your use in almost all conditions of wind.

Dinghy and Windsurf Courses, 2008

We give dinghy and windsurfing courses of 2 sessions of 2 ¼ hours each in high season and 2 3/4 hours in low season. The groups are of between 2 and 6 people per course (8 people in the most advanced levels) and the minimum requirements are to be at least 6 years old and be able to swim.

In any event, our courses do not fill the whole day. Our idea was to make these courses fully compatible with your holidays here in Minorca, where there are plenty of other activities to help you enjoy the wonderfully unspoiled environment Minorca has to offer.

In the sections “Recommendations” and “Short Breaks” there’s plenty of information on how to enjoy the best of Minorca in spring, summer and autumn. Each season has its own charms which lend themselves to really extraordinary holidays in a unique setting.

Our courses are personally tailored because we found this is the most practical way of doing things. We're always close to our students and because in Fornells Bay there's not a lot of difference between starting out and getting pretty good. The basics are learned so quickly that students move on to more advanced techniques requiring practice rather than instruction. Of course the instructor is always right there with you to protect, advise, and correct.

Again, there are no waves in Fornells, if you want, you cross the bay and end up on the other side. On the smooth water of Fornells Bay you'll easily see how to position your weight and master the basic techniques: tacking, jibing, sailing close hauled, reaching and running.
