Expert Monitors and Safety
All our monitors are very experienced and perfectly familiar with
the coasts of Minorca.
In fact, we're all in this because we love sailing in Minorca and
we know these waters by heart. We've also sailed enough to have
learned respect for the sea.
Ferran Martínez is in charge of organising our instructors
and, like all the others, he has instructor certificates issued
by the Catalan Sailing Federation. There are five of us.
I myself got my certificate through the Balearic Sailing Federation.
After a great many years competing - did I say this already?- in
regattas I am a National Sailing Monitor, now called training advanced
monitor, both for dinghy and board sailing. Windsurf Fornells Sailing
School is recognised by the Ministerio de Fomento as a Marine Sports
School, registration EDN-ME-223-VL.
There are five instructors at the school. We’re proud that
our clients praise us for the happy atmosphere, pleasant approach
and the enthusiasm of our team.

After many years of competing at national and international level,
Ramón Cirera, head of the school, graduated as National Sailing
Instructor for Training and Instruction at the Balearic Sailing
Federation.

Safety
Our principal guarantee -the one no other school can offer- is
the natural protection of Fornells Bay itself.
This is a major safety factor, you learn to sail in an area without
currents, with steady winds, no waves, and, in the case of any kind
of problem occurring, you go straight ashore, whatever the wind
is doing, as the Fornells Bay is almost a lake open to the sea only
through a narrow entrance.
We have a series of safety rules. Our monitors are constantly on
watch and their presence provides you with additional safety. On
passage and in regattas, our rescue vessels are constantly on guard
and accompany us at all times, further guaranteeing your safety.
The mandatory insurance policy required by the Ministerio de Fomento
is for civil responsibility and third party injuries up to a limit
of 150.253 €.
