Our method: learn sailing by sailing
The practical method of Wind Fornells Windsurfing and Sailing
School. After 25 years devoted to teaching sailing, we can say with
pride that we have arrived at a distinctive, effective method of
our own. Or perhaps we could say you learn sailing by sailing.

Learn on the water.
Our years of experience have given us the chance to discover, assimilate
and finally adapt many methods to ensure you learn fast and sure
whether as a beginner or as an advanced sailor keen on getting the
most out of your sailing. Whilst having a great time in Fornells,
of course.
Windsurf Fornells Dinghy and Windsurf Teaching
Method We are very familiar with the methods of the Federación
Española de Vela, the RYA and the Glenans schools and our
advantage lies in not depending on any of them, but of taking advantage
of the best of each and adapting it to our exceptionally favourable
conditions, to our clients and to our courses.
So you'll be in the water from the word go, and soon sailing under
the constant guidance and supervision of our qualified and experienced
instructors.
We have drawn up our own manuals, quality procedures and standards
to guarantee the best personalised service for each student.
Thrilling and Safe Our main aim is
to transmit our knowledge and experience and our passion for sailing
in a practical way while ensuring you have great fun. Our practical
method ensures that no matter how thrilling your sailing experiences
may be, they will also always be solidly based on sound principles
and practices and therefore safe.
There’s a brief theoretical introduction to ensure you understand
the terms and principles, and this is expanded on as the course
progresses, but most of the time is spent in the water with your
board or boat and your monitor guiding, giving hints and correcting
mistakes, giving theoretical explanations to the day's practice.
Any further explanations and any doubts occurring are cleared up
afloat, while you sail.
That's all we need: boat or board, water (in this case smooth,
with no waves) the wind and your instructor, who is always
attentive to your needs during your course.
The conditions in Fornells Bay
The conditions of our location in Fornells Bay make learning
both Windsurf and Dinghy sailing much easier as there are no waves
to make you lose your balance, meaning you can concentrate on learning,
not on standing up. You'll soon see that your progress is so fast
that in no time you'll be able to sail away to a set point and return
with no help needed.
The best way of gaining confidence and mastering sailing is to
spend hours in the water with your instructor, sailing and coming
across circumstances that give you the experience you need to understand
and assimilate the principles underlying the practice.
Our method also allows us to better adapt to the weather (usually
magnificent) and each student's own level. Because we have several
courses of various levels running concurrently, we can always adapt
to the specific needs of our students. Thus, we can guarantee a
personalised service for all.
