Fornells Bay

Almost completely enclosed, safe, protected from the waves and with steady winds. The perfect place to have fun learning and practising windsurfing and dinghy sailing.

A small inland sea with its own islands, coves and beaches.
Fornells, all the peaceful charm of a small fishing harbour that lives, as it always has, from lobster fishing. Located on the unspoilt North Coast of Minorca.

The North Coast of Minorca

They say the first seaplane to reach the Balearics chose Fornells as its destination. That was during the 1930s. It's not surprising. The smooth waters of the bay make a perfect place for landing a plane, and it's every bit as good for windsurfing.

The North Coast of Minorca is rocky and rugged, with high cliffs beaten by the Tramontana and Mistral, both strong North winds. Fornells Bay is a refuge, the only natural harbour, together with Addaia, on this part of the island.

Here you'll find crystal clear waters, an ideal temperature and no waves. Fornells Bay is so completely sheltered; you can't reach the open sea by accident or lack of control. If you can't sail well enough, if you don't have the skill and confidence you won't be able to leave the Bay. When learning in Fornells Bay you can be secure in the knowledge that, whatever happens, you'll be carried ashore and not out to sea. The Bay is as calm as a lake, with perfectly clean water and just the right amount of wind
